Question about glibc 2.1 & glibc 2.2

First of all im using StormLinux and it has gLibc 2.1, a was wondering what happen if i install gLibc 2.2.
Its good?, Its wrong?, what is the difference?

I am running Redhat 7 and I upgraded mine and it solved a bug I had when I ran Phoenix Object Basic, so I'd say go for it.
