I'm a software tester and I'm just curious about one thing:

My boss and I installed the beta version of Red Hat 7.2 on a machine that had Red Hat 7.1 on it. When we were done, I had to put M$ "Winders No Technology (NT)" on it. Dos fdisk could not replace the partition table and we had to use Nuke to wipe out the partition table. We had no problem switching from RH 7.1 to WinNT, just from RH 7.2 beta. What's the difference?

Please rephrase your question?? I don't understand it.
What exactly do you want to know about them?

he wants to know why ms Dos fdisk sucks
ie why a really old dos program can't handle deleting linux exts file system partitions (all the time, sometimes it can using the #4-non-dos option)

somebody actually posted an explaination for this last week in one of the many/frequent "i can't delete that linux stuff off with ms dos fdisk" threads

i dunno if i can find it
