I have a dual p3 Rh 7.3 box running mail, web, and Bind services.....now comes the vital part, a Day of Defeat server. I have searched fileplanet.com and found the client downloads for DOD 3.0, but there does not appear to be a server piece. However, there are half-life servers to download. Does the Half Life Server work for DOD? Has any body set one of these up before? Any gotchas?
Please excuse these questions if they are basic ones, I have yet to set a server like this up.

Have you looked in www.dayofdefeatmod.com for deticated linux server files???

*looks around*. I had been looking at dayofdefeat.com and all of the links seem to be disabled.

shouldnt you use the halflive server files??They are here:

You need:
-Half-Life dedicated server for Linux
-Day of defeat add on for the Linux server
The same is true for any other Half-Life mod. I have successfully installed a Counter-Strike server some time ago (Am I allowed to say the name Counter-Strike in public? :p)
