good audio streaming software

Hi folks,

was wondering whether there's any sware out there that allows u to listen to netradio and at same time save the stream to disc - or am I gonna have to get my java hat on!

There is a linux version of Real Player. You have to dig through their site to find it though.

You will find a plugin option in XMMS
for writing a mp3 file to disk as you listen to
mp3 streams.

Audio I/O Plugins
Mpeg layer 1/2/3 (hit Configure button)
Streaming
Click
Use proxy (localhost) Port (8080)
"Save Stream to disk"
(path /home/yourfolder/mp3stream/

You can also use OGG plugin to do same,
I believe file length might be a touch smaller
and have equal or better quality.
