Okay, gkrellm shows the system name at the top, which is set to Linux 2.4.18. That's pretty boring. I did a google search for set system name, change system name, but couldn't find anything. So, I'm sure it's something incredibly simple, but how do I change the system name so that it shows something more interesting that Linux 2.4.18? TIA

You have the hostname display checked in the general settings?

Click on my signature to see a pic of my gkrellm running to see what I mean. I have hostname and system name on the top then all the rest is a matter of turning things on and off in the configuration->builtins menu

Just right-click on gkrellm to get the configuration menu.

No, I don't display my hostname, since it would only show localhost, I don't require one, so I don't set one. I want to change the Linux 2.4.18 to something else. BTW: what theme? Lots more readable than the default..

Erm, AFAIK you can't. It's taken from the version of the kernel you are running.

The Gkrellm 'system name' is taken from

uname -sr

If you installed Gkrellm from source, perhaps you can modify the source code to display whatever you want instead of 'uname -sr'.
