some of you may remember me as the one with the p75 with 16 megs. well i got rid of that machine and got a p166mmx with 64 megs and a 2 gig hard drive. what i would like to do is set up a server on it, so it can assign ip addresses (kinda like a dhcp server would with windows 2000 advanced server). i would also like to set up an email server (one that would work with pine).

here is my question. i have mandrake and redhat 7.3 cd's. which one of these would be better for learning networking (or should i download a different distrobution?. i also have a second machine with windows 2000 on it which i would like to have on the network (and have the network administered by linux). i have also have a 4 port 10/100 hub.

any ideas on where i should start or what linux i should instal?

thanks!

Either RedHat or Mandrake will do fine.
