It have to be able to handle MsWord .doc files. It must be able to open, save and create msWord .doc's. And it have to be compatible with msWord2000 and up.
I have searched a little and from what I hear WordPerfect for linux is the way to go.?
Any recomendations?

I've been a Word Perfect fan since 5.1 dos days. But I've gotta say that Corel dropped the ball on it's WP Office 2000. the linux version is just the windows version ported through WINE. And not very well either. I have WP2K on my windows machine and love it to death but I haven't upgraded from my WP 8 yet because of this problem. Many people have multiple/errors problems setting it up, especially printing. Some people got it to go fine, but I watched one install myself that could never get the printer setup right. Until Corel get's their head outta their arse and does WP right in LInux again, Like WP8 I'd highly suggest going to either Star Office or Open Office (the opensource versino of Star Office).
