I was running Windows 2000 and recently installed linux mandrake into an open partition. The problem I have is that LILO has taken over and I can't load my win 2000 partition. I think the data is fine but I think LILO cannot detect it. What to do?
If anyone has any thoughts let me know.

Get your ERD out (you did make one?) and restore the NT/2k bootloader - make sure you have a working linux boot disk as well.. Then make that point to linux. There are a few howtos on it at www.linuxdoc.org, (http://www.linuxdoc.org,) and I had a little something at www.afn.org/~afn57538/v3linux (http://www.afn.org/~afn57538/v3linux) - there is a link at the top of the page.

I can just create an erd of the cd or another system can't I, or does it require the current partition info.

Or assuming it still goes into Linux just fine and it's just not giving you a boot option for 2000, load Linux, run linuxconf (or manually edit the /etc/linux.conf file), add the 2000 partition to lilo, run the lilo command to set it, and reboot http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/smile.gif

I was running win2000 and win98se and recently installed mandrake 7.1. My lilo works fine, I can select at lilo menu and select win2000 at windows dual boot menu. But after I reformat and installed mandrake7.2 , I can't load win2000. I get an error message(ntoskrnl.exe is corrupt!).
