I just bought this 64mg video card for MICROCRAP and of course MANDRAKE 7.0, but it keeps locking up my WINDUMB! I would like to know if 7.0 will register this card and if it will have any problems like WINDUMB? I also maxed out my memory so I need to know why it keeps freezing up? I have a AMD k6 500mhz MB, 256mg ram and a 3dgforce 64mg! Just wondering if it's too much power for WINDUMB? One last thing do I need an extra fan for this card?

Am I understanding you right? You bought a GeForce 3 video card and you want to run it in Mandrake 7?

If thats what you mean... you'll need to upgrade to the latest version of X, and if you want to do 3d gaming... you'll need to install the nvidia drivers, you can get those from nvidia's website.

If you're having problems with the card in Windows.... try making sure you've got the latest version of direct x for whatever version of windows it is that you're running and try using nvidia's drivers for the vid card.

No, you don't need a fan for this video card. For the windows problem, what are you doing when it locks up? Can you even finish booting into windows? Give us more details on what's happening when it crashes. Did you install the latest drivers from www.nvidia.com (http://www.nvidia.com) for your version of windows? For linux you will have a lot of trouble getting that card to work under drake 7. I would suggest installing mandrake 8 from scratch.
