CD Rom problems

I'm not able to access the Cd-Rom in Mandrake 8.2
When clicking on the Cd-ROM icon it says user does not have permission.

I tried accessing it in root login also.Still the same error message.

I use a Samsung CD-ROM and a Sony CD writer.
The error messag eappears for both the drives.

Whats in your /etc/fstab file for your cdrom drives?

Have you tried accessing the cdrom drives with the mount command?

yep tried that.no luck.

I seem to be facing problems only when i use CD-RW's.

Can you manually mount the drives instead of clicking on the icon?

mount /mnt/[cdrw-mountpoint]
