OK I'm trying to grasp the concepts here:
I've been told that Gnome runs on top of like Enlightenment... How does this work. Right now I guess that I'm running Gnome on top of Sawfish. It's how it works out with Mandrake 7.2 I guess. Anyway I liked Enlightenment by itself but I'd love it with Gnome because I already know how to use it. How do I achieve that?

Also in Gnome I can't seem to figure out where the windows go when I minimize them. They sem to dissappear forever. I'd like to have a taskbar somewhere but I can't figure it out. Someone Please help!!!

As far as where do your apps go, you can right click on your gnome panel, select Applet, then (I think) go to "add applet to panel", then go to Utilities then select taskbar. (This is from memory so I may be a little off with this.)
That will put a taskbar on your panel where you will see what windows are open and what windows are minimized (or iconified).
You could go into gnome control center (for the enlightenment thing) and then go to Window Mangers and then select enlightenment. That should take care of that.
