DJ-dOoK 11-16-2000, 08:47 AM Possibly intel and award bioses. chadm1967 11-16-2000, 09:07 AM Usually, the maker of the motherboard will have the BIOS updates on their website. When you do the update, make sure you read the readme.txt file that usually accompanies the update file. Not following directions for a BIOS update can be very hazardous to your board. I don't mean to scare you, I just know this from experience. Hope this helps. D-Termind 11-16-2000, 12:50 PM Originally posted by DJ-dOoK: Possibly intel and award bioses. You need to be very careful that you get the right one. If you don't, it is possible to turn your Mobo into the background for a wall clock....I.E. "junk". This isn't something to try unless you KNOW what you are doing and/or are able to follow written directions to the letter without flaw. Whatever you do...if you do this...PRINT OUT the directions and have them in your hand when you do it. If you have access to a UPS...use it. The last thing you need is a power surge/brownout/loss in the middle of a BIOS flash. That flicker of your lights that normally doesn't mean a thing..."will" then. Whenever you do a BIOS flash...you'll feel the pucker. Just because your BIOS says it's is one kind (i.e. "Award", "AMI", etc.) does not mean that the Mobo mfg. didn't "tweak" it... There should be directions on the BIOS mfgrs. webpage on how to tell. ------------------ D-Termind [This message has been edited by D-Termind (edited 16 November 2000).] justlinux.com
