I'm trying to install fluxbox on my computer. its running slakware 7.1

I got the slakware package of fluxbox but when I try to run it I get this error..

can't find libstdc++-libc6.2-2.so.3
I think I figured that error out though, I looked at my libraries and mine is an older version...I dont know how to fix it though.

I also downloaded the fluxbox source and tried compiling it but I get errors like this when I run make.
screen.cc:525 no matching function for call to 'for_each(workspace **, workspace**...)

there is about three of these errors in a row and then it quits.

Thanks for any help.

Oh yea off topic How do I mount the floppy drive?

I don't know if slack has a package management tool that allows you to upgrade the library file but that should be all you need to do. If worse come to worse you will have to install a source version and likely run ldconfig or something like that.

mount /dev/floppy, mnt /dev/floppy, mnt /floppy, or mount /floppy don't work?

Use upgradepkg Check the man page for details.

run pkgtool as root
i'm running slackware 8 and it works for me
also with the lib, search the web for that lib and see if you can get an updated copy

then download and install it

IF all else fails, try asking demerol in #fluxbox on openprojects.net

He's the maintainer of the slack pack.
