Min requirements for Gnome

Hi,

I just reainstalled my previously console only system and decided to see what gnome was like. Anyway it runs like a dog on my P2 266mhz laptop 64mb :P, is anyone running it on a system like mine. I takes about 5-10mins to show the "start here" panel :P

Both KDE and GNOME run like a dog on most older systems.

If you're looking for a full Desktop Environment, then take a look at XFce (http://www.xfce.org) .

If you want a Windows-like window manager, try IceWM.

If you want a sleek and fast WM try Fluxbox.

Thanks, I'll take a look at those others. Im not too fussed about a GUI but its nice to have a play :)
