Any support ?

I figure with all these enhancements the inclusion of a specific laptop forum is a good idea.

Any support ?You have all my support. hum... but what is that worth? :D

My linux machine is a compaq armada 110 laptop and it took me a while to find the right distribution and operating tricks to get it working as I wanted (i.e. optimum performance hehehe). I wish I could have come here for help back then...

I agree on this one. I've often thought that a Laptop-friendly distro would also be a good move.

Ditto...I have an IBM ThinkPad 380XD and got it going pretty good. VectorLinux 2.0 with 96mb of ram and 4.0 HD.

I'm so proud of my small and powerful laptop that I thought I'd share it with you :D

compaq armada 110 laptop, PIII 800MHz, 128 Mb
The internal network card connects to a ADSL modem
Then I have a PCMCIA network card providing internet connection to my local network (i.e. only one more PC, running windows hehe, what an enormous network!) and file and printer sharing through samba. The printer is connected to my laptop.

Besides this I connect my palm to the IR port (http://www.macaulinux.org/~rui.alves/palm-linux.html) and my yepp mp3 player to the parallel port (in the USB ports I have the printer and a webcam).

It's more a desktop than a laptop since it has been a while since it last left my desk top :D

Are there any linux distros out there designed for laptops? Its running Windows XP Professional on it now, I want to try running dual-booting with Linux sometime :D
