Unreal tournament on Mandrake 7.2 problems

Need some help here......installed UT on my Linux box and am trying to run it in GLIDE. Here's the problem....the program goes to start up but nothing happens, the little running icon in the taskbar just dissapears! Anyone have any Ideas? Here are the specs on my Box:
Celeron 566@901
192mb PC133 CL2
Abit Be6-2 mobo
Voodoo 5 5500

Semi related... I am running Mandrake 7.2 and just tried to install Unreal this morning. It was with OpenGL however, it started, but was running deathly slow. Like so slow it was a chore to get it closed. Anyone seen this before? I'll try to reinstall with Glide and see what happens for me.... but from seeing your post I guess it's not going to work huh..........
