I have MDK 7.2 installed, and am running /boot, /home and /data on ext2 file system. However, / is reiserfs. I really can not tell which is better, but I know some distros do not recognize reiserfs. (Storm, for instance)

Is reiserfs a much better system ? Which is more suited to older hardware ? (Like mine)

I understand the basic differences between the two, but what is the general opinion from my linuxnewbie friends ?

P.S. Can one filesystem be converted to the other ? (relevant to a question of mine in technical support)

Thanks for the input ! http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/smile.gif

I found that reiserfs was a bit faster when I changed over. It is alot faster when an improper shut down occurs. I believe the command to convert to reiser is mkreiserfs however it is destructive so all info will be lost on that partion.
