THE GIMP problem s

Hello,
I'm using the gimp to edit images but when I try to save them, it says 'save failed: could not open" then the filename I tried to save it as. I think this has something to do with permissions but I'm not exactly sure! Please help me!

make sure the directory you are saving to has write permission for the user.
chmod 745 should work.
