General forum doesn't work...

Hi Sensei!

I'm getting an error page with the following content when I try to access forum1. The URL in the address field is http://www.linuxnewbie.org/cgi-bin/ubbcgi/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=forum&f=1

The message displayed:

Content-type: text/html

Software error:

Can't find string terminator '"' anywhere before EOF at
/www/lc/linewbie/www/ubb/Forum1/forum_1.threads line 12743.

For help, please send mail to the webmaster (webmaster@linuxnewbie.org), giving this error
message and the time and date of the error. Content-type: text/html

I'm using netscape 4.76. All the other forums work, though, and I can access the latest thread in forum1 through the link on the start page. :confused: Anybody else noticed this?

So bills_a_bub also got that error. However there is a new thread on top of the general forum. So somebody can actually use it... I still can't :(

You can read posts in the General forum from the "today's topics" pages, but you get the same error attempting to reply.

I got the same error and emailed Sensei (well I only assume webmaster@linuxnewbie.org goes to him) about it.

Doesn't look like it. Tyr-7BE is still listed as a junior grasshopper with over 1300 posts (unless he likes it that way).

I'm now able to access the General Linux Questions forum, but the situation has changed. I'm now using IE5 at work, not Netscape 4.? at home.
