is there a way to install themes in kde2. i know it didnt come with the theme manager, but is there a way to get around that or a theme manager for download.

KDE2 did have a theme manager, for some reason it was worst than KDE1.x.x's theme manager. Anyway, you can find it at K-Control center, it's under Themes sub-section in Look & Feel section. It's called "Style".
