Probably any of them. You'll just need to severly limit what packages get installed. For example, you probably don't need all the games, 12 dirrerent editors, web servers, 2 or 3 different window systems with several window managers each and so on.

I've installed Linux on a Pentium 166 with 32 meg of ram and a 1 gig drive. It was tight, but that's what my firewall computer is.

So the answer is "yes, just be very aware of what you need and what you don't".

On the other hand, if you were trying to do this with Windows the answer would just be "no way!"

You don't seem to have a lot of Hdd space, but that's alright. check out VectorLinux (http://www.ibiblio.org/vectorlinux/) It only need 170MB and has X! Also a good reference for laptop info can be found here. (http://www.linux.org/docs/ldp/howto/Laptop-HOWTO.html) Best of luck!

You can the latest PCMCIA sources here. (http://download.sourceforge.net/pcmcia-cs/pcmcia-cs-3.1.23.tar.gz)

The only real problem with that box is the harddrive space. A custon install of any distro will be fine as long as you make sure to keep it minimal. Remember, less is more http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/smile.gif

Blackbox would be a good window manager for that machine.
