OK, I'm beginning to think that nessus just plain sux. I downloaded and installed nessus(to a T from what I've read and understood) I compiled and installed the four components(nessus-libraries,libnasl, nessus-core, nessus-plugins) with out any problems. No error messages during installation or cofiguration that I could decipher. So when I try following their directions that say to add a nessus user by typing nessus-adduser I get the following error message: nessusd:error in loading shared libraries: libnasl.so.1. Cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory" I looked for that file and it's in the /usr/local/lib directory as well as the /../nesus/libnasl/nasl/.libs directory. I ensured that these directories were in my path and tried running nessus-adduser again to no avail. What's up with this piece of s*#@ software?
