Logs, Logs and more Logs

Im running redhat 7 and want clues on finding logs, logs and more logs. Network logs would be a great start to see if ive been getting any un-welcome toutches.
Maybe some posted examples of logs and what I might want to look for being on a small home network.

if redhat is set up like slackware in that respect you should find logs in '/var/log'
