If a tarball is burned on a CDROM/CDRW and it gets lost, is it opened to the whole wide world?

Is there an encrypt command/utility in Red Hat?

i really dont know if its openable by anyone, i'm thinking it is, since i've never had a permission denieds when copying from a CD. there a plenty of encryption things, i just dont know any http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/smile.gif try searching on freshmeat.net
