I need some advice or suggestions. My main file server in my house is a win98 box with an 80gb, a 30gb and a 6.4gb drives (each has various partitions on them). The 6.4gb drive is where I have ALL of my windows programs and Os. The 80and 30gb drive I use for storage of files (mp3, picts, documents, and such) I recently had VERY good luck getting a new webserver running on RH7. I got Samba and netatalk working without much trouble (and it is running lick a charm)
I want to move this box over to linux and then do the same thing to it. I am thinking of placing a 10gb drive in place of the 6.4 and installing linux on it. I need to know if this is advisable. I know that under turbolinux it is VERY easy to mount win partitions in linux (if that is the case in RH7 I would do then is just share them through samba and netatalk) what would you recommend if you were in my situation. I know I will loose the ability to run a lot of my windows programs (but I am sure I can find a linux comparable program)
Thank you,
Ben
