I have Apache w/FP extensions all seems to be working well, except when publishing via http there is no user/password challenge. What have I done wrong?

I got a reply to this at ArsTechnica forum :

There is an executable called fpsrvadm.exe that you run. It's located in the bin directory where the frontpage
extensions got installed(e.g. /usr/local/frontpage/version4.0/bin )
It will ask you for admin account name and password. Until you set that it does not challenge you. You shouldn't
have to restart the server or anything; after you do this it will just start giving you the prompt. Also make sure you
have that AllowOveride line of httpd.conf set to "all" like it says in the docs although it should already be set by
default.

Also do an ln -s(pointer) from the serk directory in the frontpage stuff to a folder in in your root web directory and
look at default.htm and read some of the docs in that too.

I just recently set it up for the first time myself and ran into the same problem.

Hope this helps someone else.
