There are 3 parts to the VMWare installation....
1- The VMWare binary. Typically /usr/bin/vmware
2- The individual user preferences... for example, when I login as Nailz, I have user preferences in /home/nailz/.vmware. The 'license' file will be in this directory. *NOTE - there should be a . in front of the directory name.
3- The 'Virtual Partition'. - This could be anywhere. Either disk space that you set aside and mount within your home dir, or an existing installation (like I have under /mnt/win2000).
Hope that helps a bit.
By the way, make sure that you have plenty of RAM. You can only alot half your RAM (I believe). If you only have 64MB RAM, then you can only give about 32 (maybe up to 48) MB for the virtual system. Ever try to run Windows NT or 2000 on 64 MB or less of RAM.
