I'm trying to set it up so my windows machine can access the internet through my linux box's connection. They can ping each other ok, but the windows box can't access the outside world.
When running a tracert in windows, the linux box is successfully reached as the first step, but the connection doesn't get beyond that.
Any ideas?

Have you set the gateway on the Windows box to be the Linux box?

The gateway on the windows computer is the linux box, but I haven't done any IP Masquarading. Is that necessary?

Get PMFIREWALL from freshmeat.com and answer yes to use ipmasq. I did it and my windows boxes work fine now.

The Linux box is the Gateway through which all internet traffic must pass. At the Window$ box, a Gateway must be set in the TCP/IP properties, so that the Windows box knows where to go to the Internet. You set the IP address of the Linux box as the Gateway. On the Window$ box.
"Hey, where's the door?".
"Over there".
"Oh, thanks. Bye".
