Mandrake

I want to tryout mandrake linux but I do not have a cd burner and do not want to buy it.Is there a way to install it without a burner?

Borrow someones cd? Steal someones cd? Wash dishes for one?

I bought both CDs for $5 at linuxcentral (http://www.linuxcentral.com). Got them in 3 days, booted from the install CD, running Linux in under 30 mins. Come on, surely you can afford $5!

I can afford $5,Im have a five dollar bill sitting right here,only problem is I have no credit card.I think Ill take the dishwashing idea.

If you have a fast connection you can just download the files onto your hard drive, it takes about a gig, or a little more of space. Make sure you download all the directories and all the files. Then you should be able to use the files in the dos utilities directory to create a boot disk, and you should be good to go. That's how i did my first mandrake install.

One or more of the Linux pubs (Planet, Gazette, etc) carries a Linux Users Group list. If there's one near you, you can probably borrow a distro from them.

I think I'll go to my uncles house and download it there and burn it,since he has a burner.
