In a short while, I will be building a new computer, and I'm strongly considering having linux as my OS. I have always had Windows, but I'm willing to take the time to learn..etc..

I was wondering if anyone could suggest some features I might want to add to my computer to make it more suitable for linux..
Also what do you believe would be the best linux product for me to start out with..
Thanks in advance..

More suitable? Well, compare your hardware to linux's hardware compatability list.

As for what distro...if it's your first time, I'd recommend RedHat or Mandrake.

Tell us what hardware you have now that you will use for Linux and we can probably tell you if it should work or not and perhaps recommend additions/changes.

I'm not that far along in the ordering process, so I guess that I will just post a new topic when that time comes.
Thanks though

It's more fun (easier too) if you know what's under the hood...
