Well I'll get right to the problem. I got a Compaq CV715 with a 3Dlabs PERMEDIA 2 video card. Now Linux works great other then this one little problem, every time I load up the GNOME GUI about 5 mins into it the monitor goes black like its in sleep mode.
I have tryed taking off the sleep mode on the monitor and this works a little bit better. I think it has something to do with the buffers, because when ever I load a program like Netscape it goes blank also. Sometimes the whole GNOME GUI will turn a shade of red.
I'm really not sure whats wrong I've tryed tweaking everything to fix this. So if anyone can help I really would be greatful.
Also when ever I log out of GNOME it seems like it clears the thing that is causing the monitor to go blank.
