hi all,

just need a little help on this. i have a domain. and am running it as a mailserver (SMTP and/or POP3). i have users on this server. about 20 of them. btw, this box is Slackware 7.1 http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/smile.gif i want to install an email scanner on this box (specifically incoming).
this is regarding viruses; yeah! i know theres no such thing as virus on linux. damn! http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/biggrin.gif its just that my clients are on WinFreak! so if theres a virus attached on there mails they would blow their PC's off. and i dont want that to happen http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/smile.gif

as ive read(correct me if im wrong), i need to install a virus detector and a anti-virus e-mail scanner. bout the anti-virus e-mail scanner, i use AMaViS (http://www.amavis.org) actually its free. my problem is we're can i find a free virus detector?(to be installed on the box to accompany the e-mail scanner) i tried to search the web but all are on 30day trial. (www.sophos.com) tsk! tsk! tsk! can anyone give me some info on this? a little help would be great. thanks in advance.

Here's a start. It's a similar idea, and is Free (as in speech) - it also uses procmail, another (excellent) piece of free software.

hey! i think that process will gonna take sometime. all i need is an anti-virus that will incorporate the anti-virus e-mail scanner. anyway that link gives me a greathelp. but as for now, i just want to have an anti-virus. anywayz thanks!
