Hi,

If someone can help me; I'm a newbie in the linux area.

I installed about a week ago, Netscape Communicator 4.51 on my Red Hat Linux 5.2 system.

When surfint, an occasionnaly when readin e-mail; Netscape crash (actually, it "leave" the system); leaving the lock file that I have to manually remove prior to restarting it.

Does other people has the same problem and is it normal (Netscape bug) or is it an installation issue and how can it be fix ?

Thanks,
Yannick

Unfortunately you're experiencing normal behaviour for Netscape under Linux. In fact it now behaves alot better than it used to.
The README included with 4.51 says bugs are caused by incompatibilities with C runtime libraries and suggests changing your libraries if you have problems. I haven't had time to try it yet but if I find some rpms or sources that will work I'll post again. Good luck in the meantime.

I've heard or Netscape incompatibility that required "glibc 5.0." Try that upgrade, and check out the Redhat site in the FAQ for more details.
