i'm running Caldera 2.4 (just installed it), and i'm trying to follow the directions located at http://www.devshed.com/Server_Side/PHP/SoothinglySeamless/ to set up PHP and MYSQL, etc. anyway, when i get to the "configure" command, i get
bash: configure: command not found
any thoughts on how to install this?

Try './configure' . By default, your current directory ('.') is not in your $PATH (and that's the way it should be).

if that doesnt work, remove linux and continue using windows.

./configure [options] will work, it may not finish configure if your missing various packages in your system.
im not sure what all apache requires, but it will tell you.
