I have setup Q3 in RH using the 2.4.7 kernel and the mouse is ok up and down but any motion that requires me to move left to right no matter how minor it is, the motion is jumpy. Basically it feels like I have an old school PS/2 mouse but I'm using my Intellimouse Explorer (PS/2 connector). I have tried putting Option Resolution "1500" in my XF86, but that just seems to make mouse faster and not smoother. I've done in_mouse -1 and all the other settings in Q3 that have to do with the mouse. A guy mentioned something to me before he timed out on IRC something like mouse_smoothness =/....If any of you know what he was talking about or know how to fix my problem it would be greatly appreciated. Thx D|s

I haven't tried Q3 in Linux yet but this should all have to do with xfree and dga.

Have you tried "+set in_dgamouse 1"?

You may have a line in your /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 that disables it that you should comment out. I don't know why it's disabled, from what I understand with xfree 4.0.1+ it works, but I've never tried it. Hopefully I'm at least pointing you in the right direction.

Turning on mouse smoothing just tries to hide the jittery mouse and makes it feel laggy of course (old school quaker here :)

Also, in your q3config, seta r_finish "1"
