HalfLife ?? Whats wrong?

Ok, I got Quake 3 working beutifully, and that is with out wine using the Win32 version. Now with Halflife you have to use WINE right? Opengl comes enabled in Mandrake 8.0's wine, but the thing is, Halflife installs fine, but when I go to run wine hl.exe, my Box flips to Halflife, but its all garbled and ugly. I have NVIDIA drivers loaded and they work great, but what do I need to change in ~./wine/config to make Halflife work right?? :mad:

well you used wine to install half life, so I dont think it is a problem with your wine config. It has to be with something else...

that is the only real place i can direct you. they tell you exactly what to do (NVidia users can just follow the instructions w/o doing anything special). They also tell you have to fix things like gargled fonts and stuff.

Are you trying to run HL itself, or CS? HL doesn't work well at all, and the menus do look screwed. Try starting it directly into Counterstrike.
