What prior knowledge should i have before starting? jjjj 07-10-2001, 06:00 AM I started learning Perl with "Learning Perl" by O'reilly. I only got through the first chapter but it seemed pretty good. I dont think you need any prior knowledge. I just started doing it. Sorry if this didnt help. evulish 07-10-2001, 06:58 AM Well, I started with the Perl Black Book...$50.00. I think you need some prior programming knowledge for this. The back says Intermediate to Advanced and I didn't know **** about Perl when I bought it but some prior programming knowledge worked here...(like if statements, variables, print, and the other basic stuff). I think I'd go with the book by Larry Wall (O`Reilly, Learning Perl 3rd or something, someone mentioned it earlier) Then get this nice lil Black Boox (not very little, 1282 pages!). PERL RULES! (and c++ is just fscking HARD!) dvdnut 07-10-2001, 07:33 AM learn php instead!! seriously though, read the reviews amazon have on therir books Rnehora 07-10-2001, 04:02 PM Is third addition newer than 2nd...or? justlinux.com
