I want to learn perl, but how and where should i just get a book, wht book? What prior knowledge should i have before starting?

I started learning Perl with "Learning Perl" by O'reilly. I only got through the first chapter but it seemed pretty good. I dont think you need any prior knowledge. I just started doing it.

Well, I started with the Perl Black Book...$50.00. I think you need some prior programming knowledge for this. The back says Intermediate to Advanced and I didn't know **** about Perl when I bought it but some prior programming knowledge worked here...(like if statements, variables, print, and the other basic stuff).

I think I'd go with the book by Larry Wall (O`Reilly, Learning Perl 3rd or something, someone mentioned it earlier) Then get this nice lil Black Boox (not very little, 1282 pages!).

PERL RULES!
(and c++ is just fscking HARD!)
