Hello,

I am using LM8, and I would like to automount a samba share on my laptop automatically when it is on my small home network. I installed autofs, and tried uncommenting the same automout setting for the floppy disk, and the boot drive. So that they can be mounted from /misc/floppy and /misc/boot.

however when autofs is started, there is an error that an LDAP server can not be found and the mounts are not available.

Please could anyone suggest what I am doing wrong.

Thank you
Neil Blue

hello,
check the smb.conf file on the laptop - it looks like it is requiring some authenication from some server that is not there. There are lapd setting (e.g. lapd port, lapd server...) which can be specified.

I havn't even got as far as trying the smb service wit autofs yet. It isn't event working for the floppy or hdd in the same machine. Since I didn't set it to use any networking I am supprised to see the LDAP error.
