Oh yeah, another question, I want to install Unreal Tournament from a win98 cd as well is this possible?
dont use uT so aint sure, try lokigames
for quake3:
make new folder called /quake3/baseq3
somewhere on your hd (linux)
copy the file pak0.pk3 from your windows98cd (/mnt/cdrom/) to whereever u made the new q3 folder, then download the 117v quake3 point release for linux, search www.shugashack.com (http://www.shugashack.com) or www.bluenews.com, (http://www.bluenews.com,) type ./"point_release_name" to run the update and voila, !

UT is pretty much the same thing, just a little easier. Download the latest binary, NOT THE PATCH. Pop in your UT CD and mount the drive. Run the binary. All done!

I just installed quake3 on linux with the windows CD last night. VERY EASY.
go to www.lokigames.com (http://www.lokigames.com)
click products
click quake3
click on the link for quake3.lokigames.com or something of that nature
once there click FAQ
click the choice: Can I run quake3 in linux with my windows cd?
Follow instructions.
Also, if you have a nvidia based card, hit up evil3d.net, then click articles.. I got my GeForce2 up in 5 minutes with DRake 7.2 using their tutorials..

Great I've got them both working now....
although UT wanted to use software rendering which was running at a snails pace. I had to alter a few lines in the UnrealTournament.ini file before it would use Glide.
But all is working now... http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/biggrin.gif
