I've got the retail version of Unreal Tournament for Windows and I would like to try out this game in Linux. I'm running Slackware 7.1. I've read the UT NHF and I see what I have to do but... where are the Linux UT binaries that CiAsA mentions?
The first thing to do is to get the latest binaries for linuxUT as well as snagging a copy of the windows retail CD.

lokigames handles the UT linux port (http://www.lokigames.com/products/ut/updates.php3) now

FYI, you NHF is a little dated, all you really need to do is download the linux binary (just like your doing http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/smile.gif) and run it like so ./<binaryname> and it will handle the rest

Cool, it works and is almost as fast as UT under Windows (using software rendering that is http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/smile.gif). At least it's better than X11 Quake http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/wink.gif
Oh yeah, for those of you who think that the installer will use the software renderer if you don't select OpenGL or Glide, it doesn't. If you want to use the software renderer, select OpenGL as your default renderer and after the installation is done change it to software (instructions are in the README file).
