Can not get quake 1 to work

i have install quake 1 and all the packages for linux, and it still doesn't work..doens't even load...any ideas ?

it might help if you told us what error messages you a getting.

Saying, "it doesn't work" is next to useless.

Also, you may be using binaries built against the wrong libc/glibc - id never released glibc2.x binaries for Q1 - only libc5 ones.
www.quakeforge.net (http://www.quakeforge.net) has source you can build to get teh needed (and proper) binaries.
