Yah, HL is supposed to run in wine, but by god they shoulda made a real linux binary for it. After all, it was based on the Q2 engine, so it shouldn't have been that difficult.
And they're now porting it to the PS2, but of course there's a lot more $$$ potential than with making a Linux binary. It would be sweet if they'd let Loki do it.

I hope this happens soon as I just tried counter strike (mod for half life) which I am now addicted too. So I'm finding myself inside windows just playing this game.
Linux port by year end?

Valve should let Loki port it, I have SOF and Q3 from Loki and they work great. This is the ONLY reason why I still have a windows partition on my hard drive, I just can't get WINE to work anymore with HL. Last version that worked for me was 20000614, choppy but playable CS in Linux.

Anyone else play the Quake2 mod ActionQuake? How about the Q3 one - Urban Terror?
I don't think that they will ever port HL - heck, they only ported the server binary because they actually wanted to have more than a couple of servers running.
