what are the steps to get a game working under wine

Well, i'm trying to play Theif2 with WineX, and i failed. Now, i'm wondering what steps should i do to try to get Thief2 to work?
do i do a " --debugmsg <something>"? I really have no clue and so would like help from anyone that has succeded.

I you get Theif 2 working with WineX...let me know how you did it! All I have seen so far is after the install when you start up, it bellys up with the movie files.

you are close with the debug line...try something like this
winex -debugmsg +all_msg theif2.exe
That should give you all the error messages you want and then some :D
Forgot the important question...are you using the CVS or binary? I know the CVS has had some problems the last few few days.
