Hmm...that would have to be Halflife Counterstrike (for LAN parties) or Soldier of Fortune just for the single player. Is there a playable version of HL for Linux, or is it still in the dedicated server only stage? And I hear that SOF is being ported to Linux right now...nifty!

I finally beat Xearo in Q3A the other day, which was fun. I still can't beat the last dude (bot)in UT though, he kicks my *** majorly every time. Has anyone beat him w/o cheating?

Against Xan: Shoot Flak bombs and rockets at his feet (2-3) and then get your *** outta there. You can also Blob him witha giant blob of GesBio Riffle. Kills him in one shot : )

I've starting playing a lot of Quake 3 recently. I usually try a strategy of cam... uhh snip... uhh longe range interdiction (???). At some point I'm going back to UT and staying there.

Oh yeah and IM-NS-HO, the rocket launcher is so un-balanced. Whoever heard of a semi automatic rocket launcher? Add on top of that it's the only way to "rocket jump". It's almost the equivalent of a rail gun (maybe 10 - 20 lower, never tested it) in power but has splash and fires faster. What do you get if you don't use the rocket launcher? A status screen with a -30 next to your name. THe only decent substitute is the plasma gun or BFG and that's good for only maybe 15 seconds of actual combat. I wonder why they bothered putting in the other weapons.

Yeah, the more I think about it, the more I wonder why I don't play UT more. Anyway, I'm rambling now, gotta stop.

Yah, the trick is to move really fast. make sure that Xan never has the shieldbelt. When he gets it ONCE, he always kicks my ***. SO, just keep the big guns and the shieldbelt out of his hands. You should be able to put him away sometime. Does this say anything about how incredible the UT bots are? Hmm...

Snake race for KDE. And once I got into the menu of Q3A without using 3D accelaration (yes it is possible!!!). But the main menu was running at like .5 FPS. Soon I will be playing my own games. My current project doesn't have a name. We call it:
Project Musagi.

I have plans for never buying a windows-game again, instead i will get every game Lokigames releases.

IMHO every game based on the unreal tournament or quake3-engine should be automatically ported to linux by the main-developers, but this is another story ;-)

Under windows: CounterStrike RULEZ!!!! I tried to play Q3A but i just suck sooooo much! There is also the legendary Baldur's Gate and any good RPG (FF style)
Under Linux: Still trying to make UT work!!!!! snes9express is incredible and I have to find SMAC for linux (not buying it but try to burn it!!!! NE body know any good ISO warez site so I can d/l it?)

Since giving my Voodoo3 to my brother and getting a TNT2, none! Used to play Quake3 alot but thusfar Q3 won't cooperate in Linux with the TNT2. Haven't had Windoze on my box for some time either so can't sneek in to play games.

I know it has been around a while..over 10 years, but I still find it chanllenging. The game is Netrek. It is a 16 player graphics based space battle game that will take you about 10 minutes to figure out, and then and then countless hours trying to get up the learning curve. It is a client - server type game, and you can get the clients for free at www.netrek.org (http://www.netrek.org)
I know it sounds like an advertisement, but the game is too much fun!

Just picked up Heroes III. Loki did another beautiful port. They make the install painless. Only prob w/ heroes I've had is that you can only play in a window unless you want to play as root. They don't have that problem with smac, though.

Rogue Spear... I played that game all day and all night for like a year... definatley a good game.. too bad its not for linux. I just recently got into two other windows games: Counter Strike and this game called Infantry. Linux -- XKobo, because for some strange reason it hooked me. If I could get UT to run without segfaulting I'd play it, but I have to do a lot more research (read: I don't mean this as a question) before that'll work. I think it has something to do with it being a *cough* "special" *cough* CD.

A way to play more: always abandon a mission when you get to novice. The game stops once you reach confident (after novice). this way, you can make a money, buy more hardware and software. Also, if you saw the movie 'WarGames', go into InterNIC/Browse and in the filter field, enter 'Protovision' (without the quotes) and press enter. Add the Public Game server and see if you can find the super secret password. If you can't go see the movie (1983) or go to a website about WarGames.
