This thing isn't worth much. It's an old NEC Silentwriter 95. I have had it for a while but never used it much, so I don't know how this particular one is, but the model was very dependable. Does HP III emulation as well as postscript printing. has (I believe) 4 mb memory in it. Needs toner to print out truly nice pictures, but it does print text out readably now. Willing to trade for: sdram, video cards, IDE hdd's 2.x gb and up, cdroms. Prefer to trade in the minneapolis/St. Cloud MN area as it's frickin heavy.

I might be intersted. I don't have any experience with laser printers though. So, if I get a new toner cartridge, it will print perfect, like it was new?
What are you willing to trade for? SDRAM? How much?
Oh, could you get me the model/part number of the toner cartridge? Having a hard time finding one on the net...

It will print much better. As is, with an old, almost used-up printer cartridge, the text that you can see is clear. It is starting to band, or have columns of text that are faded or almost nonexistant. It could certainly use another cartridge, but I'm not certain it will return it to factory-new condition. You may need to give it a good cleaning inside, pretty much just blow out the dust and excess toner and wipe the rollers down with a damp towel and then let dry. Make sure not to get water on the electronics though..that's a Bad Thing (tm).
The printer is an NEC Silentwriter Model 95. Printer cartridge is a model #2230514A. I know they're not cheap, the cheapest I could find was around 70-80 and I don't know where that was anymore..

It may not be a toner but a laser roller in the print image section. They are not cheap. toner can get cheap in those second hand stores where they re-fill the cartage rather than a new ones. I have seen them with 40 bucks for something. I have reall old
 HP II compartible TI Micro 650 printer but it works well. :D . That thing stinks though I can smell the burning whenever I print.
