Man Pages

I'm using slack8.. I can't get man pages to work.

I have man.tgz, manpages.tgz, and groff.tgz installed, but when I issue a 'man' command, i get what looks like a blank screen w/ a less interfaces.. at the bottom it says..

lines ?-?/? (END)

I don't understand, can anyone clairify?

do you have a pager installed, more or less?

Verify you do have the man package installed.

You should have /usr/bin/man and /etc/man.conf at least.
