i am looking for a slot 1 (sEPP) celeron cpu
i found a 366mhz for $49 here
http://www.compgeeks.com/details.asp?invtid=205-2366
anybody here have one?
i would prefer a 400 or 433 mhz, my mobo supports those
i will pay $$ or i have a usr 56k external modem to trade or an external PP zip 100 drive w/~8 zip disks
and no, i don't want to use the slotket card to use a ppga, that is what i have now, and if it gets bumped too hard it craps out

Do you have the proper mounting brackets? Because the Slocket CPUs are pretty much the same as Slot1 Celerons. If you have trouble with it now, you will probably have a problem with an original Slot1 CPU.

i have the bracket they sold me when i bought the sloket thingy
and now that you mention it, it does seem that the part i have to "wiggle" to fix it, is the connection between the slot and the card

any suggestions? it is an abit ah-6 mobo, would a pentium II cpu sit in there any better? or should i just ditch the whole thing on an unsuspecting newbie http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/wink.gif no, i wouldn't do that, i want to fix the problem
ideas?

I have one Celery but it's only 333 *I think*.
I have the other 433 Celery but it's PPGA.

333 would probably be acceptable, but with what Ryeker said above, i am thinking i might should try a PII cpu on it
if you have the 333, would you trade something or do you want some $$ ??

A Pentium II would fit better. Honestly, I'd go buy a new bracket. It shouldn't move at all.

If it's slot 1 type MB, it should fit even the PII. All you need is the bracket which fits perfectly with your CPU. Anyway, let me know even if you need PII. I might have some laying around somewhere. I *think* I have one PII 266 and one PII 300 which is Engineering sample. http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/tongue.gif . and it reports as being 233 but actually it's 300 written on it.
