I have a P75 w/16 MB of RAM that has two nics:
10/100 Mbps (internal)
10 Mbps (external)
I installed OpenBSD 2.8 on it and it's just sitting here doing nothing. Would make a great firewall for someone who has xDSL/cable.
Anyone want to buy it? If you want, I will compile a custom kernel and set up IPNAT/IPFilter for you...

How much do you want?

Probably more than you could afford, tminos; after all, you couldn't even buy your own copy of Solaris 8! http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/tongue.gif
More details...
This is a Gateway box (fitting, huh?):
$125 as is (base OpenBSD 2.8 install, no root passwd)
$200 with custom kernel/IPNAT/IPFILTER configured and your ip addresses, no root pw and no user accounts, all services turned off except SSH. Figure on spending $25 for shipping.
This is just for the box only; no keyboard, no mouse, no power cord, no network cables, no monitor. It does have a floppy drive and a 2X CD-ROM drive. Once you have it running, all you should have to do to admin it is use OpenSSH.
I would definitely prefer PayPal payments, but if you want to send a money order (especially if I have to configure it for you) that would be ok, too.
Hope this is enough info for you.

That's great, 'i need some help', but are you going to install OpenBSD on it and run it as a firewall? Do you know how to compile a new kernel for BSD and set up an IPNAT router and IPFILTER firewall? This stuff takes time and would be a real pain for someone who doesn't know what they are doing. I don't think it's an unreasonable price for some peace of mind.

what's up wid dat?
comparing apples to oranges in a trading forum isn't helpful
a pre-setup gateway/firewall isn't the same thing as a generic gaming box
being critical of a price is fine, but you don't have to be an a$$hole http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/rolleyes.gif

If I hadn't just bought nearly the same thing....
Anyway, I'll give OpenBSD some props. It makes a great gateway. I use it as mine :)
Whoever takes this, I can offer some help on setup if you need it.
Definitely a deal here.

I was thinking to make my old P 100 box Gateway/Router with FreeBSD. May be I could use some help in the future.
