Although the site is a great place to come it lacks the look now a days. Is there going to be a new site design soon. Everything is getting pretty stale here. Just curious as to what is in the works at this site seeing that after the site was sold the excitement of updating and changing the site has faded. You ever think of pushing SMS to have Linux related stuff posted to peoples phones or whatever if they sign up to your service? I think it would be cool to see the hot discussions on my cell phone if I was away from my pc. Just a thought.

but I like the current look.

It's relatively clean, and free of unecessary bells, whistles and splats.

Yah, all I care about is getting/sharing the info. Plain text on a white backgroud would be fine with me.

But, I think I remember Sensei saying something about a "new LNO" in a few posts a few months back...

With the 3rd gen. Linuxtoday engine we will move LNO to that as the backend.

Which means easier management plain and simple.

The look will relatively stay the same with better features such as user accounts which you can customize the news or articles like on linuxtoday. Possibly themeing. Translations!!!

And yes we will most likely have an AvantGo channel and WAP enabled website with this new coded backend.

However, the number one thing I think most people will enjoy is getting to information faster and easier.

Ok. I have a vision imparement, and although I can use linux with some of the sight I have, I predominantly access this web site with synthesized speech. Why you ask? Because I am a slow print reader and I can get through a lot more. This site currently has a WONDERFUL layout for speech. Graphics labeled, print plane and simple, NO FRAMES!!!! and clean colour setup. On the other hand, sites like linuxtoday are quite bastardly to get around, sometimes no labeled grapics, and sometimes too much graphic content to load. So, if you are going to design a new look, please keep it much like it is now.

I know that Im maybe only one speaking for a lot who may not visit here anyway, but I would just like to voice my opinion. Here in Australia, I think one of the requirements for web sites is to conform to access for everybody, including people with disabilities.

Ok, you don't have to take what I say seriously, it is just to raise awareness for all of you out there. This should also go to other web page designers.

Thanks for reading this long post, but I think it is worth it.

Enjoy this site!!!

Yeh I've been told by other people that have disabilities on making LNO more accessable than it is now. I will make an effort to accomdate you and others DJ. If you see something that urks let me know and I'll see what I can do. If I can't do it I'll tell you.
