Dunno if someone has already suggested this or not... You may not even want this, because without it users are forced to hit the frontpage... but could you add an alias to httpd.conf for "/bbs" that goes to the forums (and/or "/ubb" if yer partial to it). It would save users that travel/use many different machines a click & some time when they just wanna visit the forums.

Oh, and whutever bbs you are looking into... I request more detailed profiling for users if at all possible...
